How do I get my CDL Instruction
Permit?
There are quite a few things that need to be done before you are issued
your CDL Instruction Permit. First, you need to get a CDL manual. After
you obtain the manual, you have to have a licensed physician conduct an
official examination. After these two things are done, you take the
documentation to a MVD CDL office and take the written test. Make sure
you bring the following items with you:
- Your social security card
- Proof that you hold a regular driver’s
license for more than a year
- An Arizona driver’s license
Is the physical exam that
I am required to take in order to get my permit the only time I will
have to do it?
No. In order to maintain your CDL, you must pass the physical
examination once every two years.
I am
interested in getting a hazmat endorsement. What kind of things would
disqualify me for this endorsement?
A hazmat endorsement is a harder endorsement to get, for obvious
reasons. Here is a small list of things that will disqualify
you from earning a hazmat endorsement:
- Any dealing with terrorism
- Murder
- Assault with intent to murder
- Treason
- Rape or sexual abuse
- Robbery
- Arson
- Smuggling
How do
I renew my CDL?
First of all, you have to do this in person. If you still
have a current CDL, you won’t have to retake the written test—unless
you are renewing your hazmat endorsement. Other than that,
you just go fill out a renewal form at an Arizona Department of
Transportation and submit your completed Physical Examination
Form. If your CDL has expired, you will have to apply for a
new one. So that is why it is important to keep up on your
renewals—before it expires.
Will I
have to relocate?
No. Here at Arizona Truck Driving Jobs, we find you local companies.
But if you really want to relocate, we can find the right company for
your needs and your wants. We will work with you to find the perfect
match, whether local or not.
